Introduction to the University

A. Characteristics and Overview
The university is conveniently located in the southern part of the historic city of Kyoto. The spacious, 14-hectare campus provides plenty of greenery despite being in an urban area.
The university includes Organization of Educational Research and Practice Centers, the Information Processing Center as well as the library and the University Health Center. There are also 7 schools affiliated with the university (2 primary schools, 2 junior high schools, a high school, a special school and kindergarten).

D. Accommodation
The International House was established in April, 1998 to accommodate foreign students and visiting scholars. (36 Single Rooms, 6 Couple Rooms, 4 Family Rooms. Total: 46 Rooms)

E. Local Area Surrounding the University
The city of Kyoto, internationally known for its cultural heritage, has 1,218 years of history and had long been the capital of Japan. It still remains very active and progressive in arts and academic activities, attracting both native and overseas students and tourists.
