Based on educational laws, our school aims to conduct general education at high school level. Also, our school trains student teachers and pursues practical educational research. Further, our school provides a class for returnees and research directed towards fostering international understanding.

Our school was established on April 1947 to switch over to "Junior High School Attached to Kyoto Girls' Normal School" from "Advanced Elementary School Attached to Kyoto Girls' Normal School". Special class for returnee children was established on April 1975.

Our educational principle is to respect the personalities. With this principle in mind, we will endeavor to help students to refine sensibility, to study willingly, to be responsible, and to contribute for society.We also set goals every year at each grade, and work as the whole school to cultivate the students.
